About

I make things look nice.

Values

I am a metro Detroit-based graphic designer specializing in editorial design, brand identity and print design. I am currently an art director at Octane Design, a graphic and interactive design studio in Detroit, Michigan. My work has been featured in How Magazine and Pie Books. In addition to being inspired by design, I have a love for creative writing, the art of Candy Jernigan, and for calligraphy, which my grandfather taught me when I was young.

My approach is empathetic, thorough and artistic.

To be effective, first understand.
Before I design, I get to know the audience, do the research and understand their needs and expectations.

Go the extra mile.
With any project, large or small, I put in the work. If things don’t feel right, then the job isn’t done. Things get checked, and then checked again. Taking extra steps throughout the design process ensures a quality product and experience.

Get creative.
Thinking beyond the obvious and identifying parallel relationships — visually and conceptually — is key. Being a visual person allows me to see things differently to create a specific message and translate that into a unique solution.
